The Next Miami

A Miami tower is growing wider in shape as it ascends into the sky. The project’s architect is lauding the design as a feat of modern technology.

Elysee, a 57-story tower now rising in Edgewater, features a three-tiered telescoping design created by project architect Arquitectonica.

Bernardo Fort-Brescia, founding principal of Arquitectonica:

“At first sight, the tower feels daring and maybe even whimsical when in fact it is a monument to rationality… In this era of technology, Elysee’s design challenges gravity and announces the triumph of man.”

Top off is now scheduled for November, with contractors recently passing the halfway point and now at level 35. The building’s general contractor, John Moriarty & Associates of Florida, expects to complete about one full floor every week between now and then.

Parisian designer Jean-Louis Deniot is overseeing interior design, and has taken cues from Fort-Brescia’s designs to create “classical contemporary” interiors.

Elysee will include 100 residences priced from $1.8 million to upwards of $10 million. Every unit will have 180-degree water views and both sunrise and sunset views thanks to the design, with each condo taking either half or a full floor.

Luxury features include private elevators and three levels of amenity space.

Completion is scheduled for 2020.
